I have so many things that I want/need to do with my life. I need to find a way to make money from writing, I need to find a better job until then, I need to lose weight and get back into shape. I want to complete the Loremaster achievement and I want to find a place that I truly feel at home.
In the past few years I have lived in a few states. I have lived on the east coast, on the west coast, and in the mid west. I believe that it's time to return to the mid west at this point. I grew up there and I find myself longing for people who can be kind, but also impatient. I miss crazy weather that may not include hurricanes but does include tornadoes. I miss a "normal" growing season (normal only to me because it's from the area I was raised in). I miss the food (no matter where I live, I find good food, but nothing will replace the memories I have associated with different places between the mountains.) I miss having all four seasons and living in deciduous tree. I miss the flat lands you can easily jog on.
Now, I have learned a lot from moving around, and one of those things I learned is that I do love that area of our country. That is my biggest lesson. I miss it more each day.
As I work on my book (set in the mid west, the area I'm in has been done to death with books set here) I miss home more and do my best to find a way to go back there. I continue looking for a good job (even if it does end up only being for a few months to a year). The end goal for 2011 though, to have one book fully written, edited, and looking for a publisher, if not published. Also, to live in the mid west again. Final goal, on a somewhat shorter time-frame, is to complete the Loremaster achievement in World of Warcraft before the expansion pack comes out. I don't know why I started on that achievement track, but now I want to finish it.
I'm off to get a start on something, even if that is only a nap. It's a lazy Sunday, why not? I'll work more on my book in a little while.
